I’ve worked with startup, Creativ Strategies to help define their core brand identity and continue to help the team evolve its brand as they grow and explore their business and product.

 
 

We designed the monogram to convey multiple meanings. Beyond being the “C” in Creativ, the shape evokes a hollow pie chart to emphasize Creativ’s data-driven approach, and the circle and quarter circle motifs express Creativ’s freelancer driven, full-service business model.

 

 

CHALLENGE

Creativ Strategies, an LA based full-service marketing consultancy for media, entertainment, and tech brands, needed an updated brand image that would professionalize their visuals. Their new branding needed to be inviting and flexible; appropriate for the media and tech space and applicable across all media whether socials, web, video, print, etc.

 

 
 

Creativ Strategies established a weekly newsletter, The Creativ Brief. I support the project with weekly thematic illustrations.

 
 

 

SOLUTION

A brand build including logos, colors, pattern, typography, and guidelines were developed to give Creativ Strategies a cohesive identity. The brand elements mix contemporary interpretations of tech with its illustrative geometric elements, media with its sleek digestible modernist typography, and a flourish of casual LA style with beach night life colors and vintage san-serif type.

 

 

These motifs, circles, squares, and quarter-circles, derived from the logos, form the foundation of Creativ’s visual style. They symbolize Creativ’s network of skilled individuals coming together to form diverse, specialized teams to solve problems. The shapes may float apart unobtrusively or come together in countless variations to build new forms and patterns.

The colors are inspired by the effusive sunsets of the LA beaches. How the reds, purples, oranges stand apart, but also blend together speaks to Creativ’s inventiveness, versatility, and warmth.

 

 

RESULTS

Creativ Strategies’ new branding and guidelines were shared among team members to integrate throughout the business and its sales collateral. The uniform idenity gave Creativ the confidence to expand their marketing and sales efforts to attract and retain new clients and partnerships.
